Lake Elsinore Drain and Sewer Cleaning

Lake Elsinore drain and sewer cleaning for older hillside laterals near downtown and newer tract homes. Snaking, hydro jetting and camera. (909) 751-2323.

Lake Elsinore incorporated in 1888 as a resort town built around its lake and hot springs, and the older homes near downtown and on the hillsides of Country Club Heights show that age. Many have aging sewer laterals, decades of patchwork repairs and drain lines that have settled or let roots in.

Most of the city's newer housing is in communities like Tuscany Hills, Canyon Hills, Rosetta Canyon and Alberhill Ranch, where plastic drain lines sit under slab foundations. There, clogs are usually about buildup and what goes down the drain, not old pipe. See our Lake Elsinore service area page for more.

What's different about drain cleaning & hydro jetting in Lake Elsinore

EVMWD runs water and sewer

Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District provides both water and wastewater service for most of Lake Elsinore, and its regional wastewater treatment plant is in the city. If a backup seems to come from the street rather than your house, EVMWD is the agency to call.

Some homes are still on septic

Not every older property in the Lake Elsinore area is on sewer. EVMWD has run septic-to-sewer conversion projects in the area, and some homes still use septic systems. A slow drain on septic can mean a tank or leach field issue rather than a pipe clog.

Hillside laterals in Country Club Heights

Homes on steep hillside lots can have sewer laterals with sharp changes in grade. Repairs made piece by piece over the years can leave mismatched pipe and offset joints where debris catches. A camera shows where those transitions are before anyone starts digging.

Hard water across town

EVMWD's mix of local groundwater, Canyon Lake water and imported supply is hard, and the minerals build up in drains along with soap and grease. Newer homes usually notice it first in kitchen and shower lines.

Signs it's time to call

  • Drains that back up during or after heavy rain, which can point to a damaged lateral
  • Toilets that gurgle when other fixtures run
  • Sewer odor outdoors near the cleanout
  • Repeated clogs in the same fixture
  • Water backing up into the lowest drain in the house

How we handle it in Lake Elsinore

We start with a few questions: which drains are slow, whether you're on sewer or septic, and where your cleanout is. A cable snake clears most single-line clogs. For older laterals with roots, or kitchen and main lines coated in grease and scale, hydro jetting cleans the full pipe. On the older hillside lines near downtown, we check with a camera first so we don't push high pressure through a cracked section.

Our current special includes $69 snaking of one problem drain line and a free HD camera inspection of the main sewer line, through an existing ground-level cleanout that's accessible. That price covers the drain line, not snaking the main sewer line, and if there's no cleanout we can use, additional access is quoted separately. If the camera finds broken pipe, trenchless sewer repair may avoid a long trench across a sloped yard. See camera inspections for details.

Lake Elsinore questions, answered

Who maintains the sewer main in Lake Elsinore?+

Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District operates the public sewer system for most of the city. The lateral from your house to the public main is generally the owner's to maintain, but EVMWD can confirm where its responsibility begins.

I'm buying an older home near downtown Lake Elsinore. Should I scope the sewer?+

It's a good idea. Older laterals can have roots, sags or cracks that a regular home inspection won't catch. On the standard California purchase agreement, the investigation contingency is 17 days by default, so book it early. Our guide to a sewer camera inspection before buying a home explains how to fit it into escrow.

Do you clear drains in Tuscany Hills and Canyon Hills?+

Yes. Newer homes there mostly need kitchen, bathroom and laundry clogs cleared, and jetting helps when grease or mineral buildup keeps coming back after snaking.
