Moreno Valley Drain Cleaning and Hydro Jetting
Moreno Valley drain cleaning for 1980s tract homes and older Sunnymead and Edgemont lines. Snaking, hydro jetting and sewer camera checks. (909) 751-2323.
Most Moreno Valley homes went up during the building boom of the 1970s and 1980s, around the time Sunnymead, Edgemont and Moreno joined to become a city in 1984. Those slab-on-grade tract homes typically drain through plastic pipe, usually ABS, which roots rarely break into. So the common clogs here start inside the house: kitchen grease, wipes, hair and four decades of buildup.
Older pockets of Sunnymead and Edgemont are different. Homes there predate the boom, and some have clay sewer laterals and older drain piping that roots and age wear down. Knowing which kind of house you have goes a long way toward knowing what's wrong. Our Moreno Valley service area page covers the rest of our local plumbing work.

What's different about drain cleaning & hydro jetting in Moreno Valley
Two sewer agencies, depending on your street
Eastern Municipal Water District provides sewer service to most of Moreno Valley and runs a regional water reclamation plant in the city. The Edgemont area on the west side gets sewer service from the Edgemont Community Services District, a small district that has been replacing old clay laterals with PVC on streets like Bay Avenue.
Forty years of tract-home buildup
A 1980s home's drains have carried decades of grease, soap and food waste. The coating thickens slowly until a holiday dinner or a big laundry day tips it into a backup. Jetting clears that coating from the pipe wall, while snaking alone often leaves most of it behind.
Settled lines and low spots
When soil under a sewer lateral settles, it can leave a sag called a belly. Water and solids pool there, and the line clogs in the same place no matter how often it's snaked. A camera is the only way to see a belly, and finding one changes the repair conversation.
Laundry lines and hard water
Moreno Valley's water is on the hard side, and the washer standpipe is a frequent trouble spot. Lint, detergent and mineral deposits narrow that line until the washer's drain cycle pushes water out over the top.
Signs it's time to call
- The washer standpipe overflows during the drain cycle
- The kitchen sink drains slowly even after plunging
- Toilets gurgle when a nearby tub drains
- Sewage backs up into the lowest shower or tub
- The same clog returns every few months
How we handle it in Moreno Valley
On a typical Moreno Valley call, we start with the drain that's giving you trouble. A cable machine clears most single-fixture clogs. When a main line or kitchen line keeps coming back, we recommend hydro jetting, which uses pressurized water to scrub the pipe walls and flush the debris downstream. A camera look tells us whether there's a belly, a break or a root problem that no amount of cleaning will solve.
With an accessible ground-level cleanout, you can take advantage of our $69 special: we snake one problem drain line and include a free HD camera inspection of your main sewer line through that existing cleanout. The special covers the drain line only and does not include snaking the main sewer line, and if there's no cleanout we can reach, extra access is quoted separately. More on camera inspections.
Moreno Valley questions, answered
Who do I call about a sewer problem in the street in Moreno Valley?+
For most of the city, the public sewer belongs to Eastern Municipal Water District. In the Edgemont area, it's the Edgemont Community Services District. The line between your house and the public main is usually the owner's responsibility, but ask your agency where its part begins.
My 1980s home has plastic drain pipe. Can roots still get in?+
It's less common than with clay, but it happens at poorly sealed joints, cracks, or where plastic was tied into older pipe. Far more often, clogs in plastic lines come from grease, wipes and buildup. A camera inspection settles the question.
Is hydro jetting safe for ABS pipe?+
Yes, when the pressure and nozzle are matched to the pipe size and condition. Jetting is commonly used on ABS and PVC lines. If the camera shows a crack or separated joint, we'll adjust the plan or talk about trenchless sewer repair instead.
